Twitter has a lawyer suing Musk to defend the $44 billion deal

A source familiar with the matter said Twitter would file a lawsuit with a team of lawyers over Musk’s unilateral termination of the deal.
Tesla founder Elon Musk announced that he had bought Twitter for $44 billion, a deal that excited the market, but because of Musk’s erratic attitude and his sudden withdrawal, Let this dream momentarily into a dream. Reuters reported that Twitter had assembled a team of lawyers to Sue the billionaire to finalize plans for the deal.

People familiar with the matter told the newspaper that Twitter has hired Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz to form a team of lawyers to defend the company, which is expected to file a lawsuit in Delaware within a week. But twitter officials have so far refused to respond to foreign media reports.

Musk, who has long been critical of Twitter, bought shares of the company in early 2022 and became the largest shareholder by acquiring a 9.1 percent stake in just four months. He was invited to join the board. Musk later backed out, but instead bought the company outright, sparking heated internal debate and months of discussion before the board approved the merger.

But since June, the tone has shifted in a different direction. Musk has repeatedly complained about Twitter’s inability to address spam, bot accounts, and real-name verification for all users. On July 8, he unilaterally announced that Twitter was breaking the terms of the deal.
