Boxun reported on Saturday September 5, 2015 that Sina Weibo microblog user “Full Moon Knife Curve” described being attacked by a man with a sword while driving her Japanese-made car in Zhengzhou City, the capital of Henan Province, on the day of the military parade (Thursday September 3, 2015). While attacking, the man cursed at her: “Today is the military parade, yet you still drive a Japanese-made car. If I had a gun I would shoot you to death.” The local police didn’t accord with the car owner’s request to arrest the attacker, they just required him to pay compensation. By the time this report was published, the blog post had been deleted.

The blog post writer said she rejected the attacker’s apology and compensation. She believed a sword attack in broad daylight should result in a criminal charge and be prosecuted by the Procuratorate.

The police replied: The attacker’s sword had a serrated edge, so it’s a tool, not a weapon. He won’t be arrested, he’ll be required to pay for the car’s repair and that’s all.

The car owner only received ¥400 to repair the car and left.
