Boxun reported on Friday August 28, 2015 that “long-disappeared” monk Wang Yun (Lin Bin) confirms the Tianjin police have placed him under residential surveillance on suspicion of the crime of endangering national security.

Attorney Chang Boyang, in an article he published about the process of seeking Lin Bin, on August 27, 2015 received Master Shi Xinghui’s (aka Monk Wang Yun, layperson name Lin Bin) father Mr. Lin Ling’s request to represent his son. He proceeded to the Tianjin Municipality Hexi District Detention Center to seek Lin Bin’s whereabouts. Hexi Public Security Bureau branch office investigation team leader Zhao Xu notified him that Lin Bin was: “At first suspected of the crime of picking quarrels and provoking trouble. But now, as a result of the deepening investigation, he’s suspected of the crime of endangering national security.” At present he’s under house arrest. The attorney’s attempt to see Lin Bin failed, nothing came of his Tianjin trip.
