The Ministry of Public Security held a national conference focusing on Internet sites and enterprise management security. It proposed a series of measures to enhance network control, including complete enforcement of police monitoring and the placement of “network security police affairs” offices in every major website and Internet company. The authorities want foremost to control the “suspicion of violation of discipline” at present.

The ministry will also severely crack down on illegal internet intrusions, stealing netizens’ personal information, Internet fraud, and spreading “rumors” and other frequently occurring network crimes. It will comprehensively remove “threats of violence,” and all guns, explosives, pornography, gambling and other “illegal” content.

The meeting also reiterated that all websites and Internet companies are required “to turn over all clues of Internet crimes to public security organs, and actively cooperate with the investigation and evidence gathering.”
