Central Propaganda Department Minister Liu Qibao likely to step down within the year

Bowen News Service has learned that Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping will conduct a purge of the Central Propaganda Department. A change in the leadership of the Central Propaganda Department is near at hand. Present Politburo member and Central Propaganda Department Director Liu Qibao will likely “yield his position to someone more qualified” within a year. A likely successor is the acting vice-minister, Xi Jinping confidante Huang Shenming.

Bowen News first reported this news in March of this year. In order to revive the confidence of intellectuals in political leaders, and regain control of the chaotic ideology sphere, Xi Jinping has this year taken charge of the Central Propaganda Department. Some who are responsible for propaganda work are judged not effective at carrying out Xi Jinping’s vision, and suspected of deliberately distorting his views.
