Attorneys meet Wu Gan in prison

Thursday June 4, 2015, attorneys Wang Yu and Li Fangping arrive in Fujian Province’s Yongtai County Detention Center to meet Wu Gan (aka The Butcher).

Attorney Wang Yu explained that Wu Gan is in good health and his mental state is also fine. From the time Wu Gan was detained by the police in Fuzhou on Thursday May 28, 2015, until Wednesday June 3, 2015, he was interrogated 17 times. The questions related to his protest actions since 2009, including: creating public flashmobs, fundraising and other support for his “Butcher Collection” and Twitter blog, microblogging content (most of which is about the Qing’an event). Attorney Wang Yu suspects that the Qing’an event is the fuse. A police task force was set up as a result of the Nanchang High Court event, to prepare for criminally detaining The Butcher.

The Butcher believes that his actions are protected, fundamental rights of citizens, and shouldn’t be remotely suspected as criminal behavior.

The police repeatedly interrupted the meeting, and confiscated the signed power of attorney Wu Gan gave his lawyers and wouldn’t return it.
