On the morning of Thursday May 28, 2015, Xinyang City, Henan Province Public Security Bureau Yangshan branch office completed its autopsy of the “mummified boy.”

The boy’s father Wang Xinhong explained that the autopsy revealed that the boy was severely malnourished, had bed sores, and tuberculosis, resulting in multiple organ failure and death. But it ruled out drug poisoning or beating as the cause of death.
“The autopsy report also said the child had no bone injuries, and his external wounds could not have cause his death.” Wang Xinhong also said that the Public Security department would not let them photograph the autopsy report or have a photocopy of it.”

Wang Xinhong said that the autopsy report does not rule out his child having been maltreated in the home for the elderly, for example denying him food etc. He’s waiting for the outcome of the Xinyang municipal government investigation.

On April 28, 2015, the Beijing News reported that a 13-year-old boy in Xinyang City, Henan Province’s first aid station died of unknown causes.
