Police forcibly demolish homes, injuring and detaining many

On Wednesday May 6, 2015 in Delao Village, Dongjian Township, Zhenjiang Municipal Economic Development Zone, Guangdong Province, the government mobilized more than 200 police to enter the village, forcibly demolish villagers’ homes, and violently attack protesting villagers. Many were injured and detained.

Photos uploaded to the internet by villagers show villagers on the road burning tires to block the demolition team from entering their village and others kneeling down to block the road. After that the two sides clashed, and at least two villagers were injured and at least two women were arrested. A teenage boy carrying a petrol bomb during the protest unfortunately burned himself.
