Sheepherders protest private sale of grassland in Inner Mongolia

Inner Mongolia, Wuhai City: On FEb. 2, 2015, 200 sheepherders carried protest banners to the Wuhai City government to demonstrate against the government’s private sale of the grassland and demand the government return the grassland to them. Riot police responded.

A villager said online: Government officials sent 200 police officers to expel the villagers. They began to beat protesters. In addition six villagers were forcibly taken away and their whereabouts remain unknown.
