Activist Liang Zhuqiang arrested for “inciting subversion of state power”

Guangzhou: Democracy activist Liang Zhuqiang was formally arrested by police on December 25, 2014 for the crime of “inciting subversion of state power” and is being held in Guangzhou’s Li Harbor detention center.

According to family members, he’d been detained on Dec. 11, 2014 on suspicion of “creating a public disturbance.” He’s been in jail since then.

Liang Zhuqiang was born in 1958. Several netizens describe Liang Zhuqiang as a private entrepreneur who for a long time has been distributing articles on social media such as QQ promoting constitutional democracy.
