The Langfang City, Hebei Province, Jinjitong Investment Management Corporation, due to capital shortfall, can’t pay interest to investors on their capital. Before this investors have demonstrated twice, blocked roads and demanded repayment of their hard-earned money. On Monday December 22, 2014, more than 1,000 protesting investors gathered at the Langfang municipal government headquarters, carrying banners including one reading: “Jinjitong return my hard-earned money.” They blocked the government headquarters’ front gate, protesting the government’s lack of action in support of them. During the demonstration three female investors were detained by the police, taken into the municipal government headquarters and beaten unconscious.

Netizen “Wuwei” said: Three female demonstrators were taken into the municipal government headquarters by police. Police badge number 076743, suspected of being a high-ranking police official, instigated intimidation of the demonstrators and exaggerated by saying that they all would be arrested. Three police began beating protesters until they were injured and unconscious. It merits saying that the police did provide humanitarian aid: they called an ambulance for the three beaten female protesters, who were not seen again after this.
