Apartment owners protest developer’s bait-and-switch tactic

Wujiang District Hailiang Changqiao Residential District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province: Hundreds of apartment buyers began to protest in December after learning that developers had labeled balconies as bedrooms. Buyers went to the apartment sales office many times to protest with no result. On Saturday,Dec. 20, 2014, nearly 100 apartment owners went to the apartment sales office again and were beaten by a large number of security officers and police officers. Nearly 30 apartment owners were arrested.

An apartment owner said: “Wujiang District Hailiang Real Estate violently beats apartment owners, including pregnant women and children.”
