Movie producer tried but verdict not announced

Boxun’s reporter learned that the trial of Shen Yongping, producer of the documentary “100 Years of Constitutiona lGovernance,” began and ended on Dec. 12, 2014 in Beijing’s Chaoyang District People’s Court, Wenyuhe Courthouse, courtroom number 12. No verdict was announced in court.

Shen’s documentary traces the history of China’s Constitution from 1911 to 2011. Authorities charged him with illegal business activities.

Attorney Zhang Xuezhong said he didn’t know the verdict, but that “it’s just the first hurdle.”
