Village Communist Party secretary detains journalist investigating him

Gucheng Village, Beidaihe Township, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province: Li Jizhou, Party secretary of Gucheng Village, detained investigative journalist Yin Yusheng for several hours on Wednesday, Nov. 19. Yin was insulted, beaten and deprived of his cellphone. Somehow, Yin Yusheng dialed the 110 police emergency number and was taken to the Hebei Province Beidaihe Station to make a report.

Yin Yusheng was looking into a missing 100 million yuan from Gucheng Village. A netizen said: “Everyone is wlecome to present evidence on Beidaihe village Party secretary Li Jizhou.”
