Gao Yu pre-trial conference held Sunday November 17

Boxun’s reporter has learned that Gao Yu’s pre-trial conference on the charge of supplying national secrets to foreigners took place at 3:30 p.m. in Beijing’s Third Intermediate People’s Court. Those attending were the procuratorate, Gao Yu and her attorney. Gao Yu’s lawyer, Mo Shaoping, confirmed to a Boxun reporter that the pre-trial hearing took place.

When the Boxun reporter inquired what he thought of the details of the case, attorney Mo said that because the details of the case are top secret, he can’t express an opinion yet. But he said Gao continues to maintain she is innocent, and that her health is bad. Gao, an independent journalist, was arrested four months ago.
