Three thousand Shanghai residents protest polluting battery factory

Nicheng Township, Pudong New District, Shanghai: On the evening of Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, about 3000 people gathered in Nicheng holding banners saying, “I love Lin Harbor,” “Oppose pollution,” and “Battery factory leave Nicheng” among others. A large number of police were dispatched and after several hours they dispersed the protesters.

In March, 2014 in Huinan Township, Pudong New District, Shanghai, more than 1,000 demonstrated and successfully blocked the placement of the battery factory where they live.
