Hundreds of underpaid workers confined to their factory in Shenzhen

Flare Star Science and Technology Corporation in Shenzhen owes its workers unpaid wages. This triggered strikes on October 8 and 9. Workers demanded a raise in pay. The local government sent a large number of police officers to seal the entrance and prevent workers from marching out. Many workers were injured when they clashed with police.
Flare Star Science and Technology is in the western part of Bao An District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province. The South Ring Road Haoyi Science and Technology Industrial Park was established in 2003 with a staff of 2000 people.
