Government forced demolitions in Warm Water River Village, Five Well Township, Linqu County, Weifang Municipality, Shandong Province have forced villagers out of their original housing and into dangerous housing with no water or electricity.

At noon on Saturday October 4, 2014, the villagers obstructed Provincial Highway 327. They carried a protest banner saying: “Oppose Forced Demolitions, Human Rights and Popular Will are Greater than Heaven” and clashed with the police. The villagers carried farm tools, sticks, bricks, and stones and ran the police off. But they were ultimately violently attacked by the police and many villagers were injured and more than 20 arrested.
