Villagers protest pollution of crops

In Liangtian Village, Shuitai Township, Xinxing County, Yunfu Municipality, Guangdong Province, a ceramics factory has been polluting the environment and crops for a long time, resulting in reduced crop production.

On Tuesday September 30, 2014, approximately 400 villagers gathered at the factory entrance and set up road blocks to obstruct traffic. They demanded that the ceramics factory compensate them for losses. The protest continued for seven hours, after which the villagers were beaten by police and a number of them were arrested.
