Boxun has learned that renowned rights defense lawyer, China University of Politics and Law Professor Teng Biao has been expelled from the university. The CUPL Communist Party committee issued a notification: because Teng Biao has gone abroad and not returned at the agreed-upon time, he has of his own accord taken leave from the university and is therefore expelled. The notice also demands that this information not be publicized via Weibo, Wechat or on the Internet in general.

In 2011 during the Jasmine Revolution Teng Biao went missing for 70 days. He left for Hong Kong to become a visiting scholar, he is now a visiting scholar at Harvard University.
