On Monday September 10, 2014, because of cancelled bonus payments, unpaid relocation compensation and salary disputes, workers in four factories in Guangdong and Jiangsu provinces went on strike. After thousands of workers at Dongguan Wanshida LCD Monitor Corporation went on strike, the cancellation of holiday bonuses at its subsidiary Dongguan Liansheng Science and Technology Corporation resulted in more than one thousand workers striking, marching in protest and obstructing traffic. They were dispersed by a large number of police.

On the same day, because of dissatisfaction with a new vacation system, hundreds of workers at the Shenzhen Yalonggang District Liansheng Electric Power Corporation went on strike and compelled the company to cancel the new system. Simultaneously at the Longgang District Xinyi Automobile Glass Corporation, 2000 workers went on strike to protest lack of relocation compensation. As of Thursday September 11, 2014 the strike was still in progress.

Also at the Jiangsu Province Suzhou City SEW-Transmission Equipment Corporation more than 100 workers went on strike on Wednesday September 10, 2014 to demand increased pay.
