Communist Party official disappears after stabbing death

On Saturday August 30, 2014, while negotiating a land dispute in Jianguo Village, Ke’erqin District, Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia, the local Communist Party secretary summoned villager Zhang Rong to the village committee headquarters and ruthlessly murdered him. Villager Zhang Rong was stabbed 64 times and died on the spot. The official fled the crime scene afterward and has not returned.
The villagers say the official was corrupt and had plundered the villagers’ land fund. Zhang Rong supposedly  had irrefutable evidence of this crime and that led to his murder.
