Sources say that even though Chinese cars manufacturers respect the highest standards, comparing to those of Europe, USA and Japan, unfortunately the gas has the lowest refining standard. The three state companies that monopole the gas industry, Petro China, Sinopec and CNOOC, charge Chinese people the highest price in the World, but offer the lowest quality of refined gas. Thus, they maximize margin, and enrich the Zhou Yongkang family. Reports say that the Zhou family stole over 100bn RMB to this date.

At the same time, the low refining standard practice is the no. 1 reason of the creation of the well-known Chinese smog. The engines of all Chinese car become dirty and black in just a few weeks, and they create pollution and poisonous emissions. The oil companies enjoy monopoly, they practice high prices, and have stopped investing in the refining quality, supported and protected by the Environmental Ministry and its Minister, Zhou Shengxian.
