Xi Jinping Intervened Personally for Visas to Be Issued to Foreign Reporters

Sources from Beijng told Boxun that recently certain members of the propaganda and foreign affairs press control followed the old bureaucratic route of not approving reporters’ visas . It was the case for Bloomberg and New York Times.

Certain Chinese officials in the Propaganda Office purposely blamed Xi Jinping and spread the idea that he personally decided to cancel the visas. When Xi Jinping found out, he intervened himself and instructed that the visas be granted. The visa for Bloomberg is now resolved and the other will come. However, sources also said there might be some exceptions because of behaviors against journalistic ethics. Boxun does not know what “journalistic ethics” are violated in these cases.
