In China, patients get infusions for fever or cold. Doctors overusing antibiotics in order to make more money has become a national problem. Hospitals do not have enough room for infusions, so the lobby becomes a common place for treatment.

In 2003, when Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) hit China, the government covered the truth. It denied the existence of any death in Beijing, but it admitted that at least nine doctors and nurses died of SARS. Sources said that actually about 500 people died. SARS dissapeared when the weather became warmer, otherwise it would have caused more deaths.

This year, bird flu has a similar death rate as the SARS in 2003. A source told Boxun that the government is working with international organizations to control the dangerous disease. The same source drew attention that if the governmet continues to hide the truth, the disease will be out of control.
