In October 2003 Mr. Hu Jintao, the Secretary General of Chinese Communist Party and President of China visited in Wellington and Auckland, New Zealand.

Ms. Helen Clark, timely New Zealand Prime Minister and Mr. Hu hosed a joint press conference in a hotel which Mr. Hu stayed in Auckland. I was at the conference. There was no announcement at beginning of conference that how many questions and who shall ask. Every journalist including myself lifted their hands. From New Zealand side a lady of Radio New Zealand who was sitting on her wheelchair was selected by Ms. Clark to ask a question. And one reporter pf Chinese side was selected by Mr. Hu’s official to ask a question. Then the conference was ended. Mr Hu and Ms Clark stepped down from the stage and on their way to the conference room door, whilst a journalist Miss Huang Jian from a local Chinese language media in Auckland loudly called “President Hu, I have a question to ask.” Mr. Hu then stopped to stand there and very friendly waited for Miss Huang’s question.

BUT yesterday during the ending of the press conference which was jointly hosted by Mr. John Key, Prime Minister of New Zealand and Mrs. Hillary Clinton, the Secretary of US I asked: “Mrs. Clinton, please! A very short and interesting question. ” Mrs. Clinton was very slow to raise her head to look up me, then she was trying to leave her speech desk for the door of the conference room. I continuously asked her that: ” about the Nobel Peace Prize winner…”. But whilst Mr. Clinton already stepped down the steps to the door of the Beehive Theatrette. I saw that Mrs. Clinton was stepping to the door while she looked at me. My voice was loud that she was totally able to hear. I have been shocked and confused that she is from US government why she was uncomfortable and bit scared about my question. I believe my question is very timely press question and for my up to 1 million worldwide readers of Boxun.com which is based in US and most popular web about China’s affairs. My question should be interesting to all the media on the earth. Because the question was regard to the Prize which is about a value of human beings.

After the conference I talked to an official of Mrs. Clinton’s delegation. He was happy to pass my journalism name card and question to Mr Clinton. My question is about how does the US work with China for the freedom of Nobel Peace Price winner Dr. Liu XiaoBo and his wife. She has been disappeared or detained possibly in Beijing since the announcement of the Peace Prize. Until now I have not received any answers from Mrs. Clinton or her official.

I attended a press conference in New Zealand Parliament Apple 2006 which was hosted by Ms. Helen Clark and China’s Prime Minister Mr. Wen Jiabao. In that conference every journalist had same opportunity to lift hand.

Before yesterday’s press conference the number of questions and contents of the questions were already organised and announced by the US embassy official at beginning of the conference. But the press conferences for China’s leaders in town were not organised as no one announced at beginning of those conferences.

Now I want to raise a question that why US officials always criticise Chinese officials about their behaviours of freedom of press and democracy. How to comment the behaviour that Mrs. Clinton treated a New Zealand journalist’s question and view the behaviour of Mr Hu in 2003 in Auckland.

I have known that US has got deep economic crisis and just announced yesterday to print 700 billion US dollars notes. Mr. Hu Jintao will visit Washington in January 2011. Today Mr. Hu is in France and bringing 20 billion USD business to France.
