Jailed Boxun reporter, Sun Lin, saw his father for the last time

On May 3rd, 2010, Nanjing, Sun Lin, Boxun reporter serving four year sentence, paid a short visit to his father who passed away a few days ago. Sun was handcuffed with each hand attached to a policeman during the visit.

Sun’s father was one of the earliest Red Army officer, he passed away at the age of 100 on April 27, 2010. Official newspaper Nanjing Daily made a news release, which describes Sun’s father as a hero. It mentions Sun Lin’s brothers and sisters, but does not mention Sun Lin.

Sun Lin was arrested on May 30, 2007 because of his brave reporting activities for Boxun. He was sentenced for four years for unrelated charges in 2008. Sun should be released on in May 2011. Currently, Sun Lin’s wife He Fang lives with their daughter who is in middle school.
