Boxun’s First Hand Report—

Mr. Jia received 15 years of sentence because of trading degree certificates of Peking University a year ago. During his interview with Boxun’s reporter, he claimed a criminal group, majorly consisted of officers of the education department, was behind the trafficking.

Mr. Jia said, prices of those certificates varies by their degree types: Bachelor’s degree certificate is purchased at 400,000 dollars each; Master’s degree cost 600,000 and a PHD degrees are worth 700,000 to 800,000 dollars. Each year, around 200 certificates are sold to people who do not earn credits for the degrees themselves. Directors and staffs also gain rebates by issuing and giving out these degree certificates.

He also said that 90% of the people who purchase these degree certificates are, again, high-ranking officers, and the other 10% usually goes to millionaires.

When no values are paid for dedications and hard works; when knowledge can be trade by dollars; then what are the purposes for learning?
