Rumor says female prisioners involved in prostitution activities

In China, it is not surprised that welfare centers, which the government has establishes to originally engage in social services and help those who are in need, sometimes turn out to be platforms where illegal activities are performed, for example human trafficking.

There were news reports revealing inside stories about shelters, as being transitional stations, selling their handicapped residents to either unlawful workplaces as cheap labors or to low income citizens as marriage accessories. More often, orphans were traded at the “baby markets”.

Prison, should always be a place for people to amend what they have done wrong. However, recently, there are rumors about female prisoners practicing prostitution for an exchange of commutation of their sentence. Again, a place where criminal behaviors should be rectified becomes a location for crimes to be to re-committed. It is not only a humiliation of China’s legal system, but also a social tragedy. Since when have rights and wrongs been distorted to an extent that morals seems no longer exist in our society?
