Boxun reports that Liu Yuhong, of Hebei Province’s Tangshan City, has returned home after being released from an illegal jail. Liu Yuhong’s parents had been sentenced to reeducation through labor in Tangshan, and she went to Beijing to seek redress. During this time she bought legal books to educate herself on the law and petition process, and discovered that those over 60–which her parents are–are supposed to be immune from labor reeducation sentences. On September 13 Liu Yuhong was detained in the capital. When she was released on October 1, she could not walk on her own. The attached video shows her having to be helped to walk to her home. After October 1 Liu learned that her mother Liu Fengqin had died while in the reeducation camp. Until now she has not been informed of what the cause of her mother’s death was.
