On September 26, while Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping was in New York attending the United Nations summit, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce Vice-Chairman and former Minsheng Bank Chairman Dong Wenbiao—in the guise of attending a meeting—fled to Japan, where he remains. Because Dong is suspected by the Xi regime of being involved in the corruption case against former People’s Bank of China President Dai Xianglong presently under investigation, Dong was held at the Beijing Airport when attempting to leave the country. But two Politburo members, Sun Zhengcai and Sun Chunlan, personally vouched for him, and border administration authorities had no choice but to let him leave.

After this information was reported, Minsheng Bank refuted the rumor in the media, and claimed that Dong was traveling to Japan to discuss cooperation projects. But this agency learned from different sources that Dong Wenbiao refused to return to China.

It’s reported that corrupt senior Chinese officials have hidden huge amounts of illegal funds in Japan, and Dong Wenbiao is the primary point person. China is trying to exert private pressure to bring Dong home.
