After the collapse of a real estate fund based in Handan city, Hebei Province, financing for several construction projects imploded. More than 1,000 investors took to the streets. On the morning of Monday August 25, proprietors and investors of Golden Century, Dragon Mansions, New City International, 10,000 Return Victorious City and other developments assembled at the Handan municipal Communist Party office demanding their rights. Their protest obstructed traffic. Police beat and arrested many of them.
