Right after former President Donald Trump announced his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election at Mar-a-Lago on the night of Nov. 15, current President Joe Biden’s Twitter account posted a short video titled “Trump Failing America,” satirifying Trump’s four years in office.

The short film begins with Trump’s oft-repeated claim that “nobody has done what I’ve done over the last four years,” and ironically goes through the various policy failures of his presidency. These include “make the rich richer,” “Put more people out of work,” “attack Medicare,” “attack women’s rights,” and “incite a mob to storm Congress.”

At the same time, the White House updated its Web page, listing 17 accomplishments of the Biden administration during his two years in office, including reducing household costs, creating jobs, eliminating school debt and rebuilding infrastructure.

It is rare for a former president to attack a sitting president, who is running for the presidential election after leaving office, and a sitting president to prepare a counterattack. Biden also criticized Trump for failing the United States. In a sign of the antagonism between the two, Biden has publicly criticized Trump in the past as “semi-fascist” and said his “Make America Great Again” doctrine was undermining US democracy.

“Two years ago, when I left office, America was ready for a golden age,” Trump said in a campaign speech that listed his many accomplishments in office, according to CNN. He listed a number of controversial achievements during his time in office, including his leadership of the response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Trump claimed that his administration “filled up” the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, but now the Biden administration has “nearly exhausted” it. According to CNN, both of these claims are false, and the Strategic Petroleum Reserve will be smaller when Trump leaves office in early 2021 than it was when he took office in 2017.

This is not the first time that Biden has mocked Trump. In May this year, the Washington Examiner and Fox News reported that the former US President shared a photo of himself as the king in the movie “Lord of the Rings” on his social media account. And that was Trump’s riposte to Biden for calling him a nickname. Earlier in the day, Biden gave Trump a new nickname, “The Great MAGA King,” while criticizing him.

“MAGA” is short for “Make America Great Again,” Trump’s 2016 slogan. Earlier in the day, Biden reportedly used the slogan while criticizing Trump, giving him a new nickname. “Under my predecessor, the Great MAGA King, the deficit grew every year he was president,” Biden said at an event in Chicago. And my first year as president, my first year, I reduced the deficit.”
