7 people have been killed in three days of Russian air strikes in Ukraine

Russian air strikes on Ukrainian cities for a third day, including an attack on a crowded market in Donetsk, Ukraine, killed at least seven people and wounded eight others, highlighting the weakness of Ukraine’s air defenses. Officials from more than 50 Western countries gathered at NATO headquarters on December 12 to discuss how to improve Ukraine’s air defense capability, and all countries agreed that the most urgent task is to provide advanced air defense missiles to Ukraine. Former US national security adviser John Bolton strongly suggested that President Vladimir Putin would be assassinated if Russia used nuclear weapons in Ukraine.

At least seven people were killed and eight wounded when Russia shelled a market in the Udondonetsk city of Avdivka on Monday. According to CNN, Ukraine’s military says it can shoot down many of the missiles and drones Russia fires into its territory, but Ukraine only has the old Soviet-era surface-to-air defense system, and it’s not enough.

The first of four air-defense systems promised by Germany has already been delivered to Ukraine, and an American air-defense system is about to arrive, but this is only a drop in the water. Officials from more than 50 Western countries met at NATO headquarters in Brussels on Monday to discuss how to improve Ukraine’s air-defense capability.

U.S. Defense Secretary Austin said, “The Ukraine Defense Link Team is united and determined, and we will continue to improve Ukraine’s defense capabilities, both as an immediate and long-term necessity.”

Former US Security Adviser Suggests Russia Could Be ‘Decapitated’ If It Uses nuclear weapons
NATO believes it is imperative to provide Ukraine with advanced anti-aircraft missiles, and former US national security adviser John Bolton warned Putin that Washington could decapitate Russia if it used nuclear weapons. Bolton, the former US national security adviser, said that if Putin ordered the use of tactical nuclear weapons, he would be signing a suicide note. “Ask Soleimani of Iran what happens when we conclude that someone is a threat to the US”.

Dead men don’t speak. Soleimani was a former commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards who was killed by a US drone strike in 2020. Bolton strongly suggested Putin would end up like Soleimani if Russia used nuclear weapons in Ukraine.
