Zelensky ：Ukraine will win this war against Russian aggression

In an interview with CNN’s journalist Jake Tapper on “State of the Union,” Ukraine president Zelensky was asked: “The Russian ship Moskva, the Ukrainian soldier, told him: ‘Fxxk you! ‘the one that was sunk. The Russians say the Russians are liars, but the Russians say it sank on its own. Can you provide some clarification and evidence about what happened on that ship?”
Zelensky replied: “We know that the Moskva is sunk. For us, it is a serious weapon against our country. That’s why the fact that it sank is not a tragedy for us. I want you and everyone else to know that. The less weapons the Russian Federation has attacking our country, the better it is for us and the more weakened they are. That’s all. That’s the most important thing. So what happened to the ship? Time will tell.”
“A new Russian offensive in eastern [Ukraine], in Donbas, could start at any time. Your government officials warn that it could look like World War II on a massive scale. You won the battle of Kiev. Will you win the battle for Donbass?”
“For us, the battle in Donbass is very important,” zelensky replied. It’s important for different reasons, for safety reasons. First of all, our troops in Donbas are among the best we have. This is a large force. And Russia wants to surround them and destroy them. The army has nearly 40,000 men. These are 44,000 professional [Ukrainian] soldiers who survived a major war that broke out in early 2014.”
Zelensky added, “That’s why it’s so important for us to preserve the strongest part of our military. That’s why it’s very important that we don’t allow them to take our land, because this battle it could happen, so there will be several battles and we don’t know how long it will take. It can affect the course of the war because I don’t trust the Russian military and the Russian leadership. That’s why we understand, we pushed back the Russian forces, they left, they fled from the north, from Chernikov, from Kiev in that direction. [But] that does not mean that if Russian forces were able to take Donbas, they would not move further towards Kiev. That’s why, for us, this fight is very important, for many reasons. It is very important to win this battle.”
“The director of the CIA has warned that he fears Putin could use tactical nuclear weapons in this fight. Are you worried?”
“It’s not just me,” Zelensky says. I think all over the world, all countries have to be concerned because you know it may not be true information, but it may be true, true, because when they start talking about this or that kind of fighting or involving the enemy or nuclear weapons or chemical weapons, some chemical weapons, they can do that. I mean, they have that capability. People’s lives mean nothing to them. That’s why we should think, not be afraid, I mean, not be afraid, be prepared. But this is not a Ukrainian problem, it’s not just a Ukrainian problem, it’s a problem for all [countries], it’s a problem for the whole world. I think so.”
