At 17:43 on December 30, 2019, the wechat group of “Wuhan University Clinical Grade 04”, li Wenliang’s college classmates, forwarded and posted several messages. One was two paragraphs: “7 cases of SARS have been confirmed in the Fruit and seafood market in South China” and “Isolated in the emergency Department of Houhu Hospital”. He also asked, “do not spread, let family members pay attention to guard against” and other text messages.
At 1:30 am on December 31, Li wenliang was called to the Wuhan Municipal Health Commission by the hospital’s leaders to inquire about the situation. After dawn went to work, he was interviewed by the supervision department of the hospital. After that, he wrote a paper entitled “Reflection and Self-criticism of False News spread” as required. Li wenliang said he forwarded the message after seeing it, to remind other students in the group to take precautions. Li Wenliang was talked, the hospital ophthalmology director told him not to have thought burden, its own work performance as always.

Li Wenliang began to cough on January 10. He had fever on January 11 and was hospitalized on January 12. His nucleic acid test was positive on February 1 and he was officially diagnosed. The hospital announced his death on the early morning of February 7.

Two years after Li wenliang blew his whistle, many netizens left comments on his Weibo account in memory of him. Some write that the year is coming to an end, some wish a happy New Year, and some write that “as long as someone remembers you, you will not die.” In the comments section, many people posted candle symbols, brief thank-you messages and exclaims about how quickly two years have passed. Many wrote in conversational style, as if they were talking to him when he was dead.
