China reconfirmed a case of plague, Official health agencies took initial steps.

(BOXUN) The official Chinese health agency confirmed on Sunday (November 17) that a case of confirmed plague was reported in Inner Mongolia, the southern province of the country. Earlier, official Chinese health officials said the risk of a large-scale plague was low.

China’s official media Xinhua News Agency reported on the 17th that a worker in the Huangqiqi Tala Sumu quarry in Xilin Gol League, Inner Mongolia, had repeated fever during the visit to Huade County, Wulanchabu City, and was diagnosed as a confirmed case of bubonic plague by experts.

The report said that the man who was diagnosed with plague was 55 years old. He had been eating rabbits in the quarry earlier this month and felt unwell to seek medical treatment. The patient is currently isolated.

The official Chinese health agency said that there was no epidemiological association between the new plague cases in Inner Mongolia and the first two cases that were previously diagnosed in Snite  Zuoqiqi and confirmed in Beijing.

As of November 18th, 10 days after “rumor” spread, the Chinese official media “New Beijing News” reported that a case of plague virus infection was again reported in a private hotel in the Beijing office of Heilongjiang in Beijing. The report also said that the infected plague patient has taken isolation measures. Medical isolation measures were also taken by persons involved in contact with the plague. However, this suspected plague patient was excluded from the hospital after being examined.

According to public information, the main clinical types of plague include bubonic plague, pneumonic plague and septic plague. Other types of plague such as skin plague, intestinal plague, tonsil plague are rare.

The National Health and Health Commission’s director of the “Health News” reported on the 13th that the two patients were escorted from Inner Mongolia by ambulance to Beijing Chaoyang Hospital.

The China Center for Disease Control and Prevention also said that after the case was discovered, the Beijing Weijian system has timely isolated the cases and conducted detailed epidemiological investigations on the activities of the cases after entering Beijing. The plague was called the “black death” in the Middle Ages in Europe. The “Black Death” was a major outbreak in European countries that killed tens of millions of people.
