Bowen Press exclusive: The work of rank system reform has already begun, sources revealed.

This weekend (Dec 1-3), the Leading Group for Deepening Reform on National Defense and Armed Forces will meet. At last year’s 9/3 grand parade, Xi Jinping publicly announced the disarmament of 300,000 soldiers and reform of the civilian personnel system.

Military sources said the disarmament of 300,000 soldiers has been carried out. The meeting will tackle problems resulting from that process.

As Bowen disclosed lately, the Leading Group for Deepening Reform on National Defense and Armed Forces decided to abolish five of the existing 18 army groups.
