Hundreds of Africans Detained in Guangzhou, China

Boxun reports: In the detention center YueXiu, in Guangzhou, about 70 African black people are detained for an unkown period. They are held because they stayed in China after their visas expired. There are about 150 in the TianHe Detention Center.

Human rights activist Liu Shihui was arrested for disturbing order and was detained for seven days. He was detained in the same cell with four African black men, who told him their situation, in English. The longest detention was of over five months.

Boxun published a timetable of detainees on duty in the prison, which shows names of African people.
