Lawyer Arrested in Court after defending Falungong
On April 3rd, Wang Quanzhang, a lawyer from Beijing, was arrested in the Jingjiang Court, Jiangsu Province and charged with disturbing the order in court.Wang was defending a Falungong practitioner. In China, Falungong is forbidden and classified as a “cult”.
The arrest of Wang made lawyers and many others angry. His supporters went to the Jingjiang Court to protest and Wang was released on April 6, before he served all the 10-days jail term.
