Video of Torture Released: Xu Chongyang was Beaten Naked!

Update: Xu was arrested again on March 6 from his place in Beijing.

Xu Chongyang “disappeareed” for almost two months in April-June 2011. He was first arrested in April 2011 after he exposed the eviction project of the central government in Beijing. He was released three days later after being badly tortured, but then he diasppeared for another two months.

He managed to send an SOS message in June 2011. A group of people rescued him from the secret apartment where he was kept, an apartment used for detaining people illegally, but he was kidknaped again in the street within five minutes of escaping.

Xu was sentenced for 14 months, and he was released on Jan. 5, 2013.

Boxun received a video showing Xu being hanged from his arms naked. Torture is normal in China, but this may be the first video exposing it. To protect the source, Boxun has modified the voice of the interrogator.

Boxun publised this video on Youtube, but it was removed by Google after it played only 19 times. Obviously, someone quickly reported to Google. However, we do not believe that this video violates Youtube rules.
