Boxun reports that after Beijing’s shutdown of politically-active NGO’s Open Constitution Initiative (Gongmeng) and Yirenping, it next plans to target Aizhixing AIDS Research Institute, Love Without Borders, Mister Democracy Research Institute, Friends of Workers and other civil society organizations with foreign funding. Simultaneously the Central Propaganda Department intends to strike hard against any media organ that speaks out to defend these groups. The method will be the same one used against Gongmeng, to attack them in their weak spot–funding–and use the legal loophole of taxation and exorbitant fines to run them out of business.
