Boxun reports that 49-year-old disabled soldier Chen Fengqiang has been persecuted for advocating for the rights of victims of illegal demolitions of property. At 10 a.m. on June 24, 2009, Chen Fengqiang went to the National Letters and Visits Bureau to petition, but was taken into custody and sentenced to 10 days administrative detention for “disrupting public affairs.” The judge asked him how he lived, he said he ate out of garbage cans, and the female petitioner Zhao Chunhong often assisted him.

At 10 p.m. on Friday July 24, after being released on bail Chen was taken into custody by Zhuhai police, detained until now, and on Wednesday July 29 he was taken back to Zhuhai with them.
