The police and pedestrians called for an ambulance that never came for a young woman who was hit by a vehicle at an intersection. Finally after 40 minutes, all the while losing blood, she was put into an ordinary car without assistance from medical personnel and taken to the hospital. According to Beijing standards, an ambulance should arrive within 10 minutes anywhere within the third ring road. Although the hospital was nearby, no medical personnel came to help. How can people be so cold? Is there something wrong with our medical system? If we don’t do something, someday this could happen to any of us too.
