Government forcibly demolishes a villager’s residence, burning and killing him

(BOXUN)On Monday September 14, 2015 in Rear East Gu Village, Pingyi County, Linyi City, Shandong Province there was a forced demolition and a villager was burned alive. According to villagers’ descriptions, that morning the township government brought a large number of thugs into the village to forcibly demolish villager Zhang Jimin’s house. A conflict broke out and Zhang Jimin was burned alive. Zhang Jimin’s wife was injured and thrown to the roadside. It’s not clear if she was alive or dead.

News from the scene was that at 11 a.m. the demolition started. Then the conflict with Zhang Jimin broke out and he was burned alive. Only his two underaged daughters remain in the house.

The local authorities issued this statement: “At around noon on Monday September 14, 2015, in Rear East Gu Village, Pingyi County there was a fire in a villager’s residence. The Public Security Bureau, Fire Department and other government entities rushed to the scene and promptly controlled the blaze and searched the premises. During the inspection a corpse was found. The man’s name is Zhang Jimin [name mispelled]. Zhang’s wife was out on business and not at the scene.”
