Rights attorney Zhong Jinhua publicly resigns from the Chinese Communist Party

Boxun reported that on Friday September 4, 2015, Shanghai civil rights attorney Zhong Jinhua publicly announced on Twitter his resignation from the Communist Party, and said he will never trust Communism again. The following is his statement:

Because I am deeply disappointed, I hereby withdraw from the Communist Party organization, and will never again believe in Communism!

Attorney Zhong Jinhua this evening issued a “special power of attorney” to deal with the consequences of his public resignation from the Communist Party.

Zhong Jinhua is a practicing attorney and former judge. He’s been working in the legal profession for 20 years, and taken on many human rights cases. During the recent crackdown on rights defense attorneys, in the middle of the night on July 13, 2015, the police knocked on is door and harassed and then took him away. After being questioned by the court he was released.
