Shenzhen Television issues apology

Boxun News Network on Wednesday August 19, 2015 broke a story on Shenzhen Satellite Television’s cooked-up, fabricated program on former CNN employee Huang Tianbo. Shenzhen Satellite Television’s “Key Insight” program issued through another media outlet a statement of apology. They recognize that their report misrepresented Huang Tianbo’s original meaning, and the program team apologized to Huang Tianbo.

The statement said that an internal investigation of the “Key Insight” program revealed that it conformed to other media’s reporting and misrepresented Huang Tianbo’s words. The internal investigation also discovered that the writer had quoted Huang Tianbo’s words from other media without confirming them independently or with Huang Tianbo. It also misrepresented Huang Tianbo’s professional affiliation. The program expresses sincere regret to Mr. Huang Tianbo and apologizes to the audience.
