Chief prosecutor in the Gu Kailai murder case hangs himself to death

Man Ming’an, Hefei Vice-Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), on the morning of Tuesday July 28, 2015 was found hanged to death in a residential district of Hefei.

Initial investigation and inspection by the police found that Mr. Man, 60 years old, had hanged himself.

It’s understood that the deceased had previously served as Communist Party secretary of the Hefei People’s Procuratorate and the chief procurator for nearly a decade. In 2012, while Man Ming’an was serving as chief prosecutor, the city’s procuratorate handled the murder trial of Bogu Kailai (wife of Bo Xilai). The case received top marks by the Supreme Procuratorate.
