Boxun’s correspondent has learned that the Guangzhou online writer Liang Qinhui (pen name: Sharp Knife) has already been formally arrested and transferred from Zhuhai Detention Center to Guangzhou Number One Detention Center.

Liang Qinhui, screen name New Chinese Sharp Knife, is 31 years old this year. He’s a middle school graduate from Lanshan County, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province. Since his 2008 political awakening, Liang Qinhui posted calls for democracy on Tencent’s QQ messaging service. Because his words were too sharp, his accounts “Sharp Knife One” through “Sharp Knive Five” were closed. Now only Sharp Knife Six remains. But his posts have all been deleted. Before he was detained on the criminal charge of inciting subversion of state power he continued to post on QQ. On the night of February 3, 2015, Liang Qinhui was taken to Guangzhou’s Zhuhai District Nanzhou Road police station and detained on suspicion of the crime of inciting subversion of state power.

Liang Qinhui’s girlfriend recently tweeted this message: “Sharp Knife’s real name is Liang Qinhui. His online name is New Chinese Sharp Knife. This is the 33rd day he’s been detained on suspicion of inciting subversion of state power. The authorities talk about freedom of speech while they’re randomly arresting people. Liang Qinghui is only a middle school graduate. He works more than a dozen hours a day, and only advocates for democracy online. Mountaintop bandits have declared him guilty. Sharp Knife is innocent, they should release him immediately.
