Department of State turned a blind eye to American Businessman’s life threaten from Guangdong Police

Further details regarding Vincent Hu’s case has been released by his lawyer after he finally met with Vincent in person and astonished by the cruel tortures and the life-threaten by the police. While Vincent was accused by the Guangdong Police to be a traitor to China, US Department of State and US Embassy informed Hu’s family based on incorrect info that Vincent entered China not using US passport as his ID that they reject the claim to investigate the case and help him to release from the Auschwitz－concentration－camp－style prison.

On July 13th, Vincent Hu, the successful American-Chinese businessman who’s well known for his multiple charity projects in Guangdong Province, was allowed to meet with his lawyer after 21 days torture and interrogation. From a reliable resource, Boxun learned that Huizhou government was in direct responsibility for the illegal arrest. According to the Arrest Notice issued by local police, Vincent was held in prison from June 22nd, but Vincent was actually tortured in three different locations including the conference room of the local police building. In every location, he’s brutally by battering and tortured inhumanely repeatedly. Vice Director of Huizhou Police, Mr. Lin, personally beaten up Vincent during the interrogation. Many usual torture methods including Tiger Crouch, a traditional Chinese torture machines, causing victims unbearable pains by stretching legs to unnatural length and could result in permanent physical disability, electric rod, hanging, battering and etc. were applied. Vincent’s head was bumped to floor and walls repeatedly and he was not allowed to sleep for several days before he finally collapsed and agreed to put finger prints on a testimony faked by Guangdong Police and admitted has committed the crime he never know about.

Vincent told his lawyer he was forced to surrender with not only oral but behavior life threat, which was soon proven by the interrogation police who seemed to have a bias on Vincent’s US nationality. The police officer claimed that, they knew they’re “beating up an American citizen. And it’s our purposed to beat up you American citizen. (You’re the one )to be blamed to be an American citizen. You’re a traitor(to China).” From what the lawyer has learned, many other suspects in Vincent Wu’s case, were also tortured in a similar way.

However, US Department of State and Embassy coldly rejected the plea of Wu’s family to investigate in the tragedy which left a law-bidding and philanthropic spirit American businessman in the darkest abyss of China,  based on the reason that Vincent didn’t enter China with his US passport. Not to judging whether this decision is ridiculous or not, Boxun learned from the lawyer that Vincent was actually using his US passport instead of his Hong Kong passport to enter China on May 31st.  Huizhou Police didn’t inform US Embassy while holding Vincent under arrest as the requirement of Sino-US agreement and illegally taken Wu’s passport. Boxun will keep a close observation on further feedback from US authorities regarding the matter, since it’s inevitable for US authorities to standup for American citizens abroad as far as they’re loyal to their duties.
